Job description

We are seeking a seasoned VP of Engineering to lead engineering strategy and execution across a growing portfolio of commercial development projects in Las Vegas. This executive leader will oversee engineering delivery from feasibility and design through construction and closeout—while serving as a highly trusted partner to internal leadership and external stakeholders.

A critical success factor in this role is exceptional client and contract relationship leadership, including a strong ability to manage consultant performance, resolve technical disputes, negotiate scope alignment, and ensure contract obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering execution across multiple large-scale commercial building projects.

  • Oversee engineering activities through feasibility, design, permitting support, construction delivery, and turnover.

  • Own key stakeholder relationships (clients, JV partners, municipalities, architects/engineers, general contractors) and serve as a senior escalation point.

  • Drive contract and consultant performance, ensuring scope clarity, quality deliverables, and timely execution.

  • Partner with Legal, Development, and Construction teams on contract interpretation, risk mitigation, change management, and dispute resolution.

  • Establish engineering standards, review processes, and quality controls to reduce rework and improve delivery consistency.

  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing engineering team.

Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or related) or related education.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in engineering leadership within commercial buildings.

  • Proven track record managing engineering delivery across complex, multi-project portfolios.

  • Strong understanding of contract-driven environments (consultant agreements, design-build, GC/CM contracts).

  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder communication skills; capable of managing high-stakes relationships.

  • PE preferred
