Job description

The Senior Architect (RA) Team Lead is responsible for managing both the architectural design and the project team. This role combines technical expertise with leadership, guiding teams through all phases of design and construction while ensuring compliance with client expectations, codes, and regulations. 


Responsibilities 

  • Lead and manage the design process for architectural projects, ensuring that design solutions meet client needs, budget constraints, and technical requirements

  • Provide technical leadership to project teams, reviewing and approving construction documents, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and quality

  • Oversee the integration of various building systems into the architectural design, coordinating with consultants to ensure the seamless execution of technical solutions

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring that client expectations are met through effective communication and project management

  • Mentor and supervise junior architects and designers, guiding design challenges, technical issues, and professional development

  • Manage project schedules and budgets, working closely with project managers to ensure that deliverables are completed on time and within financial constraints

  • Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning laws, and sustainability standards throughout the project lifecycle, addressing any regulatory issues that arise

  • Conduct quality control reviews at key stages of the design and construction process, ensuring that all deliverables meet both internal standards and client requirements

  • Lead construction administration activities, including site visits, reviewing submittals, and addressing technical questions during construction

  • Support business development efforts by participating in proposal writing, presentations, and client meetings, showcasing the firm’s expertise and project experience

  • Represent the firm in industry events, conferences, and client meetings, building relationships and expanding the firm’s presence in the market

  • Ensure that project closeout activities, such as punch list resolution and post-occupancy evaluations, are completed successfully

Job requirements

Required

  • Licensed Architect (RA)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture

  • 8 -10 years of experience in an architectural role

  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role

Preferred

  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP)

  • Experience with large, multidisciplinary projects
